The Columbian Exchange was a term used to describe the exchange of disease, food, knowledge of technology and lifestyle, and family pets between the Europeans and the Native Americans. One of the main exchanges between the Europeans and the Native Americans were the diseases helped bring from Europe. The Europeans brought lethal diseases such as small pox, measles, autorit?, whooping cough, and many more. This caused the Native American population to get severely destabilized and dropped at least 90%. This kind of decline manufactured many Europeans, who came up later, think some regions had been previously uninhabited.

Another exchange between the Europeans and the Native Americans was that of livestock, which include horses and pigs and many more animals. The Native Americans that lived in the Plains area became fascinated by the Europeans' horses; hence adopting a large number of and becoming competent riders.
